Educating young NF Ambassadors
The NF Academy is a program to educate young people to become ambassador for the rare disease Neurofibromatosis. In a one week training course there are lessons on medical topics for NF, mental health and essentials for the work as an ambassador for other patients. This event is conducted together with one our NF member organisations in Europe.
The NF Academy 2025 in Barcelona
We are happy to announce that this summer the NF academy will take place in Barcelona. It will be an educational program, a mixture of joint discussions and individual work. Young patients as well as siblings of patients will learn about NF1, NF2 and Schwannomatosis, patient advocacy, patient involvement in research and how to deal with the challenges that they are facing.
Location: Barcelona (Spain)
Date: Aug. 22nd – 29th, 2025
Participants can be patients and also siblings or parents of patients with NF
Age group: 19 – 35 years
Diploma: Certificate as NF Ambassador
As a participant you need to have: The willingness to become active NF patient advocate and support your national NF organisation. Adequate English-skills with level B1 and up) is needed to follow the discussions and talks. You can test your language skills here. Remember: there is still a lot of time to improve your English until start of the NF academy!

These are the steps to participate this in summer:
1. Contact
Get in touch with your national NFPU patient organisation and ask them, how they can support your participation and whether they can cover your costs for travelling to the venue. If there is no NFPU member organisation in your country, please contact us info@nf-patients.eu.
2. Application
Once you have clarified how you will get support from your national patient organisation, applicate here for the training. We will review all applications and you will get final information about final admission to the NF academy 2025 at the end of May.
3. Registration fee:
As soon as you receive our info about your acception to the academy, you have to cover the registration fee, which is:
For NFPU member organisations: € 95,-
For other NF organisations: € 395,-
